Yes Pismo; I would rather spend the evening laying on the floor with you instead of running.
That is how I have felt for my training the last few weeks - I have had zero motivation and it has been very frustrating. This is the first thing I am actually training for which I have felt this way and it makes the runs seem harder and longer. I have been trying to get myself encouraged and excited - and I am excited to run Detroit, I just can't seem to get the motivation to get up and go. As you can tell, from my next photo; this is what my alarm clock says when it rings at 5:35am on Saturday for my long runs:
I have registered for a Half Marathon training clinic this upcoming weekend and I am hoping to get more motivated from it. It is going to go over all kinds of stuff like nutrition, cross training, stretching and core training - I am quite excited about it. For any locals reading this, feel free to check it out - Marathon Training Day - Kingsville, Ontario.
I will be skipping my long run this Saturday with two justifications :) The first being that I think they are going to make us run at the training day but the best justification is that I am spending this weekend celebrating 8 years of wedded bliss! Our 8 year anniversary is next week so we are going to the States to do our favorite fall activity - New Hoodie Shopping! I will spend the weekend getting a warm cozy new hoodie to cuddle up in the fall with! And of course I will be stopping at R.E.I and the running store to look for new running supplies!
I spent a lot of time this weekend working on my yard; we have just over an acre of a backyard and it takes a lot of work to maintain - but it is what we fell in love with when we first saw the house - we might live in the hood but when your in the backyard its like our own private oasis:
This creates a wonderful place for me to stretch and breath and relax after a run - now if only I could get myself out there on the run first.
:)
It must be the weather or something, I've lost my motivation as well.

Happy Anniversary!
One of my tricks is to run an out-and-back when I'm feeling unmotivated. Once I get to the halfway point there's no faster way to get home than to keep on running. Keep on running!
